That looks fantastic Bran, a really enjoyable SBS especially the metallics and your use of colour.

Cheers Simon

Thank you Phil. You're the one who made me want to put a step-by-step online, yours are so well done!! This is a bit special, I'll put a few photos every day, because my bust is finished, I just have to put it on a suitable base. On the other hand, the experience being interesting, I'm going to try to do my next painting also in step-by-step, but this time I'll post the photos as I progress....

I'm very flattered!

The final results are just stunning, and I'm glad you've decided to share them with us in this fashion 👍. The exquisite backdrop, clean details, beard, ravens, cloak, and metals - they all look superb!

Regards,
-Phil

Great thanks Phil for your kind words.

Wow, this is superb. Lovely work all round, the feathers on the ravens in particular are incredibly well done, but the whole piece is very impressive.

Thanks so much for the SBS. As someone who is trying to improve their acrylics technique this was really helpful. I'm going to order some of those GSW inks right away. I've been using a few contrast colours from GW but the GSW inks seem to be a valuable addition to the armoury.

Thanks a lot for your feedback Nigel, I'm glad I could be of help to you.
Indeed, Green Stuff World sells good products and not too expensive, it's almost the only online store where I get my supplies.

Somehow I missed the last update.
The piece is absolutely stunning. The background is an excellent addition.
But overall what caught my eye was the fine detail, leaves me in total awe of your skills.

Hi Bran,
I must apologise for missing this at the start, I have however now caught up and I thank you for all the hints and tips given en route. The finished model looks quite spectacular.

Hi Malkie,
You're welcome, there are a lot of topics on the forum so it's quite normal to sometimes miss some. Thank you for appreciating my work, it's nice.

Just...Wow. Fantastic. So much to learn from this. Your brush control is outstanding, and the way you added texture to the beard and fur and arms. Bravo.
Surely your place at the table to drink Ale from curved horns is assured..
