Beautiful job. I've done a couple from this (Crimean) series but have shied away from this one because of the gold lace. Seeing the great job you've done on it, I really must nut up and dive in.
I concur about the scale... I think 75 is perfect for painting. Big enough to make the detail crisper but not so big as to need a roller to paint the larger areas ;)

Again, fantastic work

Lovely job on this John. I still have mine kindly given to me by a fellow member here, but haven't had the time to paint it. I'll use yours as an inspiration.
Thanks Mike, glad you like him.Hope the pictures will come in handy for a paint guide. If you need any colour reference to the mixes I used, please let me know.
John:)

Super job on this figure and not an easy paint with all that blue to do. Mine is waiting in the wings for the Crimea bug to bite again. :) Love the face on yours too.

Colin
Thanks Colin for the kind words. I did enjoy painting the face. Maurice Corry certainly sculpted a great Victorian face with this guy and of course, many of his other works. The face is what caught my eye first with this sculpt and the very natural relaxed pose.
John:)

Hi John,

Apologies for being late to jump in and give you a well deserved pat on the back for this figure. A cracker.

Just wondering how you found the acrylic paint and dealt with the inevitable sheen?
