Hi all - just finished up this one: an officer of the French 5th Hussar Rgt., c. 1812 in 1/16 scale from H&V. Really liked the dramatic expression and colourful uniform details on this one - a good one on which to try my hand at NMM for the various gold tones of the trim, braiding and buttons. My usual oils and acrylics:

Hi Brian

Great to see you posting , a cracking piece of painting and it’s 1/16th , the full picture really shows the fine detail work you’ve done , the NMM works well

Nice work on the white pelisse

There’s a lot of details in that fleshwork....good highs

Did you stipple/dot the highs on the blue ?

Why not support the competitions see link below

Look forward to seeing more from the bench

Happy brushwork

Thanks everyone for the kind comments - it was a little gem of a piece and fun to paint.

Nap, thanks so much for the compliments; the blues were sponged to try and simulate a wool- like texture.

Cheers,
Brian
