It's interesting, the 30mm all look like they could have come from the same illustrations that Holger Ericksson might have used. The poses remind me of poses in the Prins August 40mm mold catalog.

Cheers Brad, the Swedish cavalrymen were drawn by Martin Block and the infantryman by Hans G Hagstrom I can see the similarity though. The Prince August figures are nice.... just not flat enough.

That's Michiel de Ruyter born in Vlissingen a few km from here.

He is one of our great Sailors from the 17 century.

Thanks for that Marc, I have heard of de Ruyter, he made things very difficult for our Navy. I hadn't seen that portrait before though.

Yes, he gave the mighty Navy of the UK some terrible years.
There is a replica of his flagship in Lelystad. If you ever come into the neigberhood you must go see it.
