In Belgium Waterloo and the Army Museum in Brussels are worth a visit. Oh yes, we have some nice beers too over here! Enjoy your trip!

Hi Martin

We haven't decided where we intend to go when in Germany. Our trip is rather unplanned. Personally I'd like to visit Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich. I'd also like to visit a model show or two while I'm there

Should you make a relatively small detour to the Middle East, more specifically to Israel, I'll be happy to show you around. I will start working next month in the city of Beer Sheva, where your countrymen (Australian Light Horse) held one of the last cavalry charges in history (They actually commemorate the 100th anniversary of this charge on the exact day when I went down there to interview)

Anyway, you are welcome and I wish you and your wife safe, enjoyable and interesting travels!

Let me know when you get closer to the German border. I am located between Cologne and Frankfurt near Koblenz. If you are interested in historical castles, a rebuilt Roman fort along the Limes or tons of WWII original hardware I can give you a tour. In May I will burn some of my annual leave from the year before so I will be quite flexible.
Cheers, Martin

Shit Tony....I just got back from a week in Amsterdam.....where did you stay?we were in the hotelMövenpick on the harbour.

Pete

Thanks Martin,

We're currently in Amsterdam and not planning to do much for a few days

We're planning to be in Vienna on the 13th April.

I'd love to catch up.

Regards

Tony

Hi Tony,
if you are heading next for Vienna you might squeeze in your German tour on your way south. If that is the case please let me know. I send you my details via PM.
Cheers, Martin

Hi guys

I'm about to invade Italy by crossing the Alps. Any Planeteers in Italy and Malta who want to catch up, please leave a PM here .

I've been travelling now for about 8 weeks and we still have another four and a half months to go.

Having the best time but I do miss my workbench.

Hope to attend a model show soon too.

Just arrived in Venice. Here for 4 nights then onwards to Malta. Any Planeteers able to get a message to Ray Farrugia, Stephen Malia of Sam Vella, I'd like to meet them at one of the IPMS Malta club nights next week or the week after.

Missed you by 6 days Tony........on the assumption that this might be a once in a lifetime visit make sure you get along to Do Mori in San Polo just behind the Fish Market.
No seats so you stand, ideally get there about 11.00am. for your giro do ombre. There's better cichetti and better wines in other bars but none come anywhere near to this for atmosphere.

As DEL wrote : in Venise...
But do no miss drinking a coffe at Florian, the oldest coffe in the world, 1720, Piazza San Marco, a piece of art in itself .
There you visit History ... but expect also historial prices, 11€ a hot chocolate,15€ a pastry

Hi guys,

I arrived in Malta this morning and will be catching up with the friendly crew at IPMS Malta next week.

I'll be in the UK from mid to late May, staying in Huntingdon with family. My wife has agreed to let me off the leash for a few days to visit modelling mates and/or attend a show.

Are there any shows in the UK during this time period?
