6 figures down. Last Lewis gunner to go. I spoke with a WW1 veteran at Lochnager crater near Ovillers in the early 1990's who recounted he had gone over the bags with the Royal Fusiliers on 1st July 1916 and before going he pinned his girlfriends last letter to a sandbag in the trench with a bayonet. He obviously survived and I've tried to recreate this in the trench scene.

Nice touch Rob.

Just a thought but I was planning to fill up the cavity under the figures etc with some form of groundwork and apply a regimental badge in there to create a more compact shape to the kit that would allow it to be mounted onto a circular plinth that would encourage 360 degree viewing.
The kit is excellent but the cavity looks strange and its probably been made like that to save using resin that would increase the cost, however you have lead the way and stormed through treating us to seeing this painted so soon after its release and in no way is this a criticism on what you have done.

Rob,
Superb painting and presentation, a great tribute to those soldier's who went over the top.
A big very well done from me.

Beautiful work - I like the little touches of detail, like the metal platoon/company recognition triangle tied to the small pack of the Sergeant who's just gone over the top.
Fantastic!

Chris.

Totally agree , the baynot with the letter .....wonderful ...particularly like the groundwork and the weathering of the figures

WELL DONE
