Hello Nap, I use a wet palette box with palette paper to keep the acyrlics moist and workable. If I transfer paint to a well palette, I add Valleyo Retarder Medium and distilled water to the paint. I'm still trying to get the water to paint ratio worked out with certain colors before applying them, still learning as I go along, but having fun. Regards, SG:)

Hi Sg ,

Nice reply my friend ...can't beat using a wet palette ..I swear by mine and have also converted a couple of painters to using one. Ratio's are always fun...not:whistle: but thats the way Acrylics are ..have a look at the books mentioned earlier in this thread if you can they are great.

Happy painting

Nap

DSC02332.JPGHello Everyone, With deep regret, I will be dropping out of the Paintathon. Work commitments are really keeping me away from the bench right now, and don't look like there going to slack off any time soon. It's my company's busy time of the year. Another reason is I will not be able to take any photos, as I have to return the camera I've been using to my sister, she's been real patient, and will let me use again in a few weeks. As you can see by my photo, I haven't had much progress. I started cutting back on the dark shadows a bit, and gave the lips a first coat. I also did the eye brow, not very straight, to much coffee trying to stay awake, but I will fix it. I will continue to work on this bust when I have the time, and will post it on a separate thread. I've really enjoyed being a part of this Paintathon, and hope there will be others like it in the near future. It's a great way to share tips on painting, references, and making friends along the way. To Nap, Mark, Pedro, and Goetz, I've enjoyed painting, and working along side you guys from the start. I hope we will be able to do it again. And Nap, maybe 1 rule in the future, no modifications, you and I probably would have been finished long ago. Maybe a paint as is, would have been easier. It's been fun though. I'll keep notes on this bust as I'm working on it, and save my final comments when its finished. Hope to have it done in a few weeks. Best of luck to you guys, I'll be talking to you all from the site. Regards, SG:)(y)
