How the hell did I miss all this?
This is looking awesome!!! Glad you sculpted the braid as opposed to trying to paint it on... much better with some relief. All your colours are dead on... blue, grey, gold, all spot on.
This is just fantastic work, my friend, carry on.

Cheers

Colin

Some work on his right arm....grey done and austrian knots probably about 75% there.

Wow, the knotwork on the sleeves absolutely blows me away. How did you come by the colour on the cuffs? A very interesting tone. Isn't it usually a more cream colour?
Anyway, the overall effect is really coming together well... A really strong figure...

Now when you gonna splash him with blood?:nailbiting::LOL::ROFLMAO:

Look forward to the final product. Perhaps you'll bring him to Ajax?

The cuffs are only undercoated Colin....see his collar for the proper buff. The only blood on this dude will be the bloodshot in the corner of his eyes LOL.

Hello Colin, The painting of the braiding looks great, your sculpting of them really sets the colors off. I'm enjoying the progress. Regards, SG:happy:

Thanks for the nice little remarque by Strain SG.Very nice. BTW - I used one of his paintings of him by Strain as my new Facebook title page.

There are a lot of small salutes to Pat Cleburne on Youtube. Here is an example:

Here is a short series of videos on Cleburne at Franklin:

Colin ,

I continue to be amazed at your sculpting and painting , you have a very personal collection all lovingly worked .

I really like the colours you are using on this one , love the braiding especially and agree that it looks better in relief .

Thanks for sharing this and your post on using inks ..very useful

Hi Colin,
This just keeps getting better and better. You fantastic brush work has just brought out your fantastic sculpting skills no end. You must be very pleased with the progress, I certainly would be if I could produce work of that standard. Can't wait for the next update.
cheers
Richie

Nice!!!
There's the facing colour I was picturing and you hit it dead on. In the close ups the face looks great... Love the bloodshot eyes ;)
I'm dying to see this in person.

Great job all around

Hi Colin,
Your painting is really complimenting the awesome sculpting you achieved on this piece.
You must be pleased with this fellow?
All the very best,
Keith

Thanks for the kind words gents. Yes I am quite happy with him and I am steadfastly refusing to bend to my usual desire to race for the finish. I always compromise quality in the last 10% of the piece as I rush to see what the big finish will be. Not this time. Also I don't know what the next project will be so there is nothing beckoning me to speed.

One reservation I have is that he may look a little better in photos due to my "magic camera." I have to remember what I did right next time I want to take photos.

I am on holiday this week so I am hoping to polish this fellow off by week's end. Thanks for the interest.

Colin
