Hi everyone,

Last weeks I did some sculpting on a German figure.
Anatomicly not quite correct but it gave me enough vibes to design another one soon. To keep up my painting I went on with it.

René,

Wow you're a rapid modeler!
I agree with you about the general anatomy, but particularly the trousers are quite well sculpted. Maybe slightly on the 'baggy' side, but I like them.
I assume the Sturmgewehr still has to be painted?
Overall a commendably brave attempt! Keep going!

Cheers,
Adrian

Hey Marc,

thanks!

Adrian,

the baggy reversible wintertrousers are my favourite
In order to have enough spare parts, things like heads, hands and weapons were molded by me.
The barrel needs some attention, fragile parts are the hardest to copy.
But worth the effort.

I went on with the face tonight and some other parts.
This time I will apply some dirt when working on him.
I deliberately painted his colar again in a lighter grey and will repeat this if necessary to make the dirt occur.

Hi René,

The face is nice; the eyes really stand out.
And you sure keep the oils of the face very smooth, well done. (Is the face done in oils..?).

Good luck finishing it!

Cheers, Adrian

Adrian,

thanks!

Carl,

thanks for your concern.
Finishing tools and equipment I oftenly postpone.
But keep on spotting, please :)

René

you really are a great face painter, the sculpting looks great too. I would like to see the outcome of the hands, so far they look much better.

Adrian,
forgot to tell you the face was entirely done in oils.
Except for the white of the eyes, applied even before I start with undercoating flesh colors in enamel.

Laxmano5,
I'm having a couple of hands ready to be preparated with silicons ready for duplication, I wonder why when it's actually fun to shape them yourself.
It gives better shape and fits better to parts as weapons, resulting in more expression when such labor succeeds :)
Some fingers can be stretched more, exactely the way you like, compared to molded ones.

Still needs to be sanded and some filling.
It will be fun painting the dirty nails, can assure you that...

René

In order to get a good feeling of overall contrasts that need to be added and I wanted to know more about his position, I mounted Friedrich on his socket. He's removable, don't worry.

Some mud, snow will be seen, I'm trying to depict a scenery from the Bulge here and some snow might be a nice one.

Hey Marcel,

thanks.
Next figure I will give some more attention to certain details when sculpting it.
But being patient is also a virtue here.
