Note added by pwadm: The last image was actually painted by Piotr Walerski from a black-and-white copy as the original didn't survive. The colors were added by Piotr Walerski and may not correspond to the original.

This man's artwork must have fostered the imagination of literally millions and a few generations of modellers
I include him as after 40 years I bought this model in january and I only do figures

I would also like to nominate The Walker Art gallery, William Brown St. Liverpool.
Displaying Holbein's Henry VIII, Richard Caton-Woodville, Lady Butler, JL David and Ernest Crofts.
Although all available to see on line. I am going to do a bit of shopping later, and I shall call in to look again at 'Napoleon on the eve of Waterloo' and 'Saving the guns at Mywand' how luckyam I to be so close.
