For those of you who have followed and given your support during construction and painting of this figure over in the bench forum I sincerely thank you all!

Here he finally is and I must say what a learning experience it was, 90% fun 10% pure terroršŸ˜œ, I hope Iā€™ve done Johnā€™s sculpture justice just in case he ever sees it.

Thank you Nap for hosting such a wonderful place we can all share our love of figure painting.

Absolutely fabulous, the brushwork and weathering is top class.
I wish I'd bought this back in the day.

This is fantastic Steve, the figure and weathering are so good and together with the turret, absolutely superb.

Cheers Simon

Superb work, this has turned out really well. Love the weathering and the weary, dirty look you have captured on the tanker.

Steve, a REAL treat for us to watch. The result is magnificent and well worth the 10% 'terror' [from where I'm sitting :joyful:!] You should be really proud of the finished figure and surround. There is absolutely no doubt..... you have 'done the sculptor proud' too.
I am really looking forward to your next figure...........
Congrats.
Kim

Marc, Simon, Nigel and Kim thank you all for your comments and time taking a look! I have some more pictures I can post if anyone is interested . I first saw this sculpt if I remember correctly back when John had it presented at the MFCA show , I had delivered a Pocher automobile kit I built for Chuck Robinson of the Red Lancers and was standing at Chucks table and I believe John was standing next to me ! Built many Pocher kits for Chuck but never met Mr. Rosengrant.

Steve, I am interested in any new photos, as I've just discovered some little 'extras' such as the headphone leads and jackplug connector. I don't think I am going to be the only one re-visiting this [over a coffee] many times in the future [Malcolm has indicated the same too]. So, if you have the time..............appreciated...........and also jealous of the scenery in the 'garden' photo background!!
Yours through 'figure modelling',
Kim

Kim I try my best to be as accurate as possible when building and have fun while learning during research. The one outside picture was taken off my back porch, it was 29 degrees outside.

Here are a couple more pictures plus I have many more I can share .

That looks stunning, change it to black and white, make it a little grainy and it will be a period picture. Get a copy like that put it on the base so it looks like your inspiration!

Cheers Simon

That looks really good, there is something more atmospheric about BW photos that colour just doesn't capture. Or is that because we are all old and remember BW TV!

Cheers Simon

Hi Steve,
Late in on this one and so pleased I did not miss it. You've done a wonderful job on this, the weathering looks great and yes you have done his sculpt proud.
cheers
Richie

Simon thank you for the idea, I agree with the B/W photoā€™s.

Richie , thank you so much for taking a look and posting, looking back I sure wish I hadnā€™t done the weatheringā€¦šŸ˜©
