I like the photo showing a smidge of paint on your thumbnail. I use mine that as a work-in-progress palette for small amounts of paint when working in close. Saves shifting the focus of my eyes and position of the figure relative to light source too often.

To look this good under such high magnification is testament to your skill. Stunning already and nowhere near complete. Wonderful.

PS Just received my copy of the duellists, my treat for this evening...

LOL. I use mine to remove excess paint from my brush when doing fine work like eyes and lace embroidery. Sometimes you pick up a tad too much paint and it’s easier to deposit it on the thumb nail than the stay wet palette. 🙂

Thanks Melanie. I hope I haven’t oversold The Duellists. I would love to get your reaction. Then we have to get Nap in front of the film too. 😂

Not much progress today. We have company until Wednesday AM so painting opportunities may be limited.

That’s super dooper lacework ........so effective and a much admired subject and piece no matter what scale

If I might ask do you adjust the way you do lacework in different scales ?

The pleasure your getting from this shines throughout

Thanks for the great update and pics

Looking forward to seeing more when possible

Have fun

Hi Nap. No adjustment really. I use the same paints and mixes for anything between 1/6 and 75mm. Smaller figs like 54mm, 1/48 and 28mm don’t really allow for the multi colours build up on hussar braid…

You're right. I’m having a blast. Sadly we lost my aging sister-in-law a few days ago and we have family staying with us waiting for the funeral. I may squeeze some painting in but progress will slow.
