completed and I congratulate it!
A great work.
Red of a uniform is very nice.
I feel soldier's uplifting feeling.
The flesh-colored tone is also wonderful.
I also expect a next work of you.

Nicely Done

Hi Tony,
I like the smoothness of the Tunic & the pants. I also like the worn effects on the leather gear.

The earth effects that have traveled up help 'ground' the character to the base. Often its odd to see a well presented figure who seems to be lowered onto a base by a crane, because the groundwork doesn't match.

I feel you've captured the moment nicely.

What did you use for the metal effects, eg pistol, helmet badge, scabbard?

cheers

Tony,

Outstanding painting! I can smell the smoke and taste the dust.
Truly brilliant! I cannot believe what happens when I leave the country for two weeks.

Rocky

Great looking figure Tony.
just one thing i may be wrong but the knots on the sleeves should be gold braid
looks great though
Martin

Thanks everyone for your generous comments.

Guy - I do too mate! I'd like to see a Zulu Chief in full regalia.

Mitsutaka -my next project is Andrea's 54mm Robin Hood.

John- thanks mate.

Jamie- thanks mate, weathering needs to start from the boots up and tie the figure to the ground he's standing on. The metallic effects are simply Vallejo acrylics. I've shadowed by adding several black/ brown washes and then picked out the highlights with silver or gold.

Rocky - thank mate. This figure gave me another excuse to watch Zulu again.

Hi Mark - yes the helmet received two light washes of Ivory mixed with a drop of English Uniform. It may not look like it, but its definitely not white anymore.

Martin - D'oh, I didn't read the painting instructions very well did I??? You're absolutely right. The braiding on the sleeves should be gilded (gold) braid not white. I'll fix that immediately and post some new pics in a couple of days. Thanks for picking that up mate.
