I've decided to put all of them under one thread, sorry for putting some pictures again :).
Goal is : try to sculpt all three sergeants from movie Platoon, one of my favorites Vietnam movies..
One day when I finish them they will look nice on the shelf ... and my family will have more stuff to throw away :D

I think if they're just for your family; they look excellent, and you are definitely on the right path, and I hope you continue to use the talent you obviously have to continue improve.

Agreed these are really quite good. The likeness is definitely there. Please ask your family to throw them out in the direction of Ilford (Essex). Lol.

Mark.

Thanks guy's ! Mark, I don't want to promise anything but if I ever manage to make any copies of those I will be glad to send you one ...

You have reasons to be satisfied. Great stuff.
You still have to learn how to make "clean" surface, but that can be learned quickly, and talent that You presented here is impossible to learn - You either have it or not :)

Great sculpts.Great likenesses.Great.......etc. etc.
I particularly like O'Neill but they're all......................Great.

Pretty good!
I'm reminded of my favorite line from that movie now, from Elias to O'Neill, "You don't have to be an asshole every day, O'Neill."

Prost!
Brad

One correction. If the movie took place in 1970 or earlier (I'm pretty sure it did) the numbers on the dog tags would be a unique service number, not a social security number. SSAN's have a format of xxx-xx-xxxx (9 digits). A service number would be either RA-xxxxxxxx (RA=Regular Army, i.e. an enlistee) or US-xxxxxxxx (draftee). So that's two letters plus 8 digits. Yours have 10 digits.

I was in the US Army from May of 1968, when my service number was assigned, to 1971.

Thanks Huw , not quality for commercial casting but I'm satisfied with outcome ... hope next will be even better
cheers
Robert
