A friend of mine passed me this newspaper cutting as possible inspiration for a vignette.

By my calculations 5'3" is 63" which equals 160 cm which would be 4.57cm in 1/35
For the german the calculations are: 7'5" = 90" = 228cm = 6.51cm.

The combination would be quite an interesting vignette, I may get around to it, but if anybody else feels like taking up the challenge, feel free.

I have seen this and similar photos, yes it would make a good vignette, better in your capable hands than mine. Though I have often thought a vignette of Old Fritz inspection his towering Grenadiers would be amusing.

It's the old conundrum of scale versus height :
5'9" = 175cm (5'11" = 180cm); so:
1/35 = 50mm (51.4mm)
1/32 = 54mm
1/24 = 73mm
1/20 = 87.5mm
1/16 = 101mm
1/15 = 117mm
1/12 = 146mm and
1/9 = 194mm
However, due to variations in head dress, scales as expressed in mm (54mm &c) have traditionally been measured from bottom of feet to eye level. Although I have used an arbitrary 175cm (5'9"), of course any individual's height is very variable within countries, between countries, and through time.
