Hi all

After reading many threads here on the forum, I found that many people use acrylic paints over printer's inks in order to add more depth (shadowing).
However, correct me if I'm wrong, but I was always told to never use acrylic paints over a solvent paint (my inks are in small jars with odorless turp with or without some oil paints). I can understand this reasoning with oil paints since we all know what they take forever to dry and any acrylic overlayer will dry before the oil underlayer. I would be happy if I could use acrylics over inks.. but I'm not so sure I can do it. Any inputs ?

Thanks !

Alex

Hi Alex, never had a problem as long as the inks are totally dry. However, for shading purposes, i personally mix them with oils as it gives greater control. I only use acrylics for the hi-lites at the very last stage. Hope this helps.

Regards

Ron
