Hi Guys,

Having again exhausted all my sources, does anyone out there know if the RA tunic, as depicted in the Osprey book, The British Army On Campaign, Crimea, (plate E), had red piping on the back? (like the Light Dragoons and Lancers had)

Thanks in anticipation!

Steve,

Ref this in the Robert Wilkinson-Latham book I have it states ..the coatee was double breasted with piping on the front edge .There was 2 small buttons at the back waist with a brass hook to support the waist belt (British Artillery Page 42 ..Others ranks details)

The colour plates also show no piping

I have converted a bust to this figure details are on PF and there is definately no piping on the rear ..just the seams where the jacket was put together .

Hope this helps...
Feel free to ask anything else

Thanks Kev. That's what I thought, but I knew there'd be someone out there to confirm it! I used your conversion as a reference and you didnt mention it either.
sorry to miss you at Sutton Coldfield last Sunday - I heard that work got in the way!!

cheers

Steve
