I know this is an emotive subject. It also represents one of the blackest episodes in history. I decided to paint it in black and white, as I think it gives more poignancy. The figures are a mix of Mig and Royal Models.

Being an emotive subject shouldn't stop it being done Carl and it looks like you're off to a good start. Painting it in B&W is a good move and will really add to the feeling.
I couldn't help but think of the little girl in the red coat.

"I couldn't help but think of the little girl in the red coat."
Funny you should say that Roger.;)
Thanks for having a look,
Carl.

excellent start sir. Should be really cool when finished. A small burst of color somewhere important but not prominent would be a good move.

EXCELLENT worksmanship on a very difficult subject. One always trys to execute a subject like this but has to keep everything subdued due to the emotions provoked. You have done this well Carl.

I am with the others though. A small splash of color would be nice. I couldn't help but be drawn to the child. IF you put color anywhere? Put it on the child. A red coat? Possibly adding very pale flesh colors? I like the idea of colors on the child representing the promise of the future or the innocense of youth? Up to you regardless of what you do.

What kind of scenery will you add to these figures?

Jim Patrick

Carl I was wondering when you were gonna post a start on this one , a great start and looking forward to seeing how it progresses.(y)

Cheers Ken

Very somber set-up Carl, very well done. This is always a tough subject, but it appears you have done it justice.

Cheers, Ski.:D
