On a lighter note, I have come down with a chest infection an despite everything I tried I couldn't heat up and felt chilled to the bone.
Having been relegated to my wee emergency bed in my painting room (I do a lot of my work in the early hours) I was trying to think of how I could heat up.
Solution .............
For the first time in what must be nearly 50 years I used a hot water bottle.........
I'M NEVER SLEEPING WITHOUT ONE AGAIN.
Along with Wrights Coal Tar Soap it's now one of my favourite things (y)

Agree 100% on the Cold Tar soap use it all the time ( at least once a month whether I need it or not) As for a hot water bottle naah. Mrs B's bum is far better than any hot water bottle, and it dont go cold during the night:whistle:

With you all the way Del - never bothered with such things as hot water bottles in the past, but started to pop one in the bed for the good lady and when it got really chilly added a second one for my tootsies. . . lovely :p

(I really like Coal Tar soap, but the lovely wife doesn't like the smell so alas I do without. :angelic: I do however have a crafty sniff when in the Supermarket)

Unfortunately Mick I'm banned to the far side of the bed when it's chilly - apparently I absorb heat like a sponge . . . :meh:

Sorry to hear yet another poor soul with a chest infection at the moment, get well soon Del.

In my case,
I am sorry but the smell brings back bad memories of horrible childhood bath nights with tepid water, after my older sister used all the hot water before me.

I use Nivea products now, and hot water

I shall however invest in a hot water bottle or two, this winter I could have used one now and again.
I have just started to wear some comfy slippers at home for the first time as an adult.
I don't know why I never had 'em before.

I do associate the smell of Brylcream and Bay Rum, and Old Spice with my dad and grandad though..and Yardleys Lily of the valley with my Mum.

Smells and memories eh ,)

Paul.

Paul,
I was the third in line for the bathtub and would have liked Tepid???? The copper had also run out of water by that time? So much for older!!!!!
Cheers
John

Looks like you are doomed to succeed then Del.!

:)

Paul.

I know I'm really surprised about it. I've even been to the pub a few times and resisted the temptation.
Next Saturday is my birthday, I get my favourite meal .. Beef Stroganoff then I get left alone and I'll watch The Young Ones box set (y)
I'm starting to plan my beers

Ahh the boxed set.

Natures way of saying the pub was open when it was on!

I am watching Dad's army series 4 as I type this.

Sounds like a good plan for Saturday mate.

Paul.
