I've finally finished this rather challenging project!

The figures are sculpted by Maurice Corry. I modified some of the heads slightly though.

I used a mix of Vallejo and Scale75 acrylics.

The composition is based on the painting by Alphonse de Neuville.

The figure at the back pointing is Lt Gonville Bromhead.

Padre George Smith with the red beard is handing cartridges to a soldier of the 24th Foot.

Surgeon James Reynolds is tending to a Natal Native Contingent soldier.

Corporal William Allen is in the right foreground.

Hope you like it!

Hi Edward

Now that's a mighty fine piece of painting ...do like your painting style ..particularly on the flesh

A nice rendition of the uniform red as well and nice presentation

Always good to see your artwork

Please do think about entering in the new version of FOTM ( you choose which class to enter based on your level )

....and there is also the Diorama & Vignettes comp as well to enter ...PM me if needed

Thanks for sharing

Happy bench-time

A classic already. For me, a highlight is that red-haired beard. Achieving the correct colour in miniature is not easy but you've managed it with aplomb.
An all-round excellent job.(y)
