Russian Budyonovka caps

Anybody know if these were also worn by Russian soldiers during the Great War? I know they were worn during the Civil War and afterwards in the Soviet Army of the 30s.

Ah, it's all in the spelling - budenka, budyonnovka, budyonka.

Thanks! Apparently the answer to my question according to Wikipedia is probably not. Looks like wear started during the Civil War by Soviet troops.
