This is really shocking news, like a heart attack.
So quick change of the dimensions.
I m sad that his soulwork finished here-

He is more than the great sculptor, he is the wonderful Roy-al human being reflected in his work.

My prays go to Roy and his family.

This is tragic news to say the least. I exchanged a number of Emails with Roy when he was putting together his Zouave bust and he came across as a true gentleman. My sympathy goes out to his wife and childeren at this difficult time. ~Gary

This is truly shocking and awful news.
Roy ( or Mr.Hunt as i called him) was a most generous and kind man, he encouraged me on this site and others and got me started in sculpting, even going so far as donating materials to me free of charge. He will be sorely missed as not only a truly talented sculptor but as a great man.
My deepest sympathy to his wife and children, and cannot imagine how they must be feeling, losing there father and husband.

Just heard from Bluesking of Roy's passing, a shock as he is still fairly young. What a loss to the hobby as Roy was "one of the good guys". Euro will be a bit sadder this year with him missing, someone always ready to explain and help. My sympathy to his wife and family.

Devastating news to hear that Mr Hunt passed away at such young age.
I hope that his wife and children find the strenght to coop with the émptiness Mr Hunt has left.

Oh my god !!!

I read this topic about ten times, because I can not believe it. A few weeks before I lost my cousin because of a heartattack - 35 years old. If there is a god, I really can`t unerstand him...

I´m just speechless and smashed down because of this terrible news... Only a few weeks before we had so nice talks in Girona - now he is gone. Again, I can`t believe it.

I think we lost a real gentleman, a good friend, a great sculptor - but his family lost much more than this.

My deepest condolences go to his wife and his 10 children... I´m so sad !!!

Take care Roy, my friend - where ever you are in this moments...

Sad News

Sad news indeed. I was showing my wife some photos the other day and pointed out Roy to her.
Some years ago she ordered some of Roys flats for me and had to phone Roy.
Like most women she has an uncanny knack of getting a sense of a person without having to see them, she remembered him as an absolute delight to speak to, funny and a gentleman. This was borne out when I briefly met him in 2007.
Deepest sympathy and very best wishes to the Hunt family.

Well, I was/am lost for words since Hardy called Ivan and in turn Ivan called me to break this dreadful news!

I've known Roy for almost 5years since Euro 2003 and when we both discovered that we were born on the same day, the 13th of May we sort of had something in common, but he used to taunt me that he was older then me by 4yrears.........we met again in Euro 2006 and this month in Girona........ There's nothing more to add to Hardy's tribute........indeed Roy will be sadly missed..........I will forever hear that Cockney accent in my head and heart!!

Roy, you were not destined to visit Malta like we planned in Girona! My prayers and thoughts are with your big family whom you adored and cherished......may God help them thru this loss of their beloved father and devouted husband..........

Till we meet again mate, I'm sure there's gonna be lots of modelling lessons up in heaven!!!!

Ray..........

Hoo..... A very sad news, I have no words to say my only disappointment this morning when I realized what had happened.

Roy, I do not had the pleasure of meeting you in more detail but I know that you were a great man ..... and this shows messages from your friends.

I pass on my deepest condolences to the family and all his Friends.

Very sad news. I know Roy only trough contact over email and his works. And his works had the special things which you not often found.

We had here in Germany a song with the following text "Niemals geht man so ganz, irgendwas von Dir bleibt hier " means "you will never be miss totally, something of yourself will remains here" and that is what will happen with Roy.

We will always remember him

Ulrich

Roy Hunt

I had a mail this morning telling me the awful news. I met Roy on many occassions at various model shows and found him a veritable gentle giant with a ready smile for everyone. I'm sure I speak for the whole of the Faversham Model Club when I say he will be sadly missed.

My heart goes out to his family

John
