Hi Ross

Just love the guy leaning on the wall, absolutely beautifull, thanks for the pics

Dave

It was a great show, PF's Bob Tavis won BoS for his dio Zoot Suit Riot and it was well deserved. Other PF members such as Pete H, Roger Claeps, Matt Wellhouser (great to finally meet you after all these years) took home arm loads of medals I know that I am missing names, but I never take notes. I took home a cert of merit (for a piece that was in progress and "not in competiton") as well as a beautiful framed print of the Scots Greys at Waterloo (raffle prize). The hotel is under renovation an a major pain for all invoved, but the show was inspirational and I have already started painting the OOP Fort Dusquene Gustavus Adolphus.

How was it a pain? I thought the hotel did a marvelous job of accomodating the show and its patrons. We still managed to improvise and hold a darn good show - in all aspects, better than last year's. By the way, I promise to bring a blender that won't crap out after one use.

Okay, here's a few photos from the show.

Yep, It was quite a bit of fun. I was not able to stay Friday or after the show, but It was nice to see people I usually only see once per year, and others. Very nice to make new freinds.

Overall a very nice show, with a great mix of figures and models and dios. John Rosengrant had a couple of neat figures (including the Unter offizier above). Damn, if he doesn't show up one year, I may get a crack at Pete's award! John and I spoke for a while, he is a great guy and modeller. Trevor Hensley had a 101 st airborne in late war uni that I think S&T will produce, along with the Luft dude. So, some exciting stuff for WW2 guys (is there any other war??). Hey Rog, did you get a picture of that one- I missed it!!

Going to a show like this is a sure way to make you want to build and paint, or just throw your stuff out the window. SCAHMS has always put on a nice show, and this one was no exception. My hat is off to everyone in the SCAHMS club that put in the hard work to pull it off. If you look over on Armorama, they will have some more pictures.

Matt Wellhouser

Matt,
Here you go. S&T will be producing this one. In fact, it's due to be released next month.

My thanks to the show organizers and volunteers at SCAHMS for yet another kick-ass show. It was a blast!

As I said the show was great and a big congrats and THANK YOU go out to all those that organized and volunteered, but from what I experienced and heard from others I spoke to there were problems with the hotel (I didn't say anything went wrong with the show), don't really want to take up space here giving specifics.

Thanks Ross, Roger and Pete
Great pix. Great seeing everybody too.

John
Jeez, I almost forgot--CONGRATULATIONS BOB!!!! (AKA btavis) on being awarded BOS for your awesome diorama "Zoot Suit Riot." Too cool, Bob.

John G.,
Rosengrant's Unteroffizier won the best World War II award precisely for that reason. It was a really good piece; I think his best to date.
