Will do , it will be good to see you do some painting, see how it should be done, instead of my way
 I'll do it again. Chris

And tomorrow.....when the truth is revealed...I shall help you get over the shock of meeting my staff that do the painting for me.
I have a team of underlings titled head sander, 1st primer, under coater, blender and cocktail mixer. Head groundworkeeper and title engraver.
Some call me m'lud others call me 'Ay bollocks'.
see ya tomorrow mate.

This thread has made me chuckle. It also made my Pauline laugh. She has said " when did getting to the postman first become an Olympic sport" .

Well Our Bob.......I do aim to please and put the seat down. !

The only possible answer to the purchase delivery dilemma is to be completely open with one's partner at all times as you obviously are, thereby increase the trust which should be endemic in a caring relationship.

Or.......... be the postman :D

Paul.

Comparing my grey army size with painting rate became so depressing that it slowed down the buying a lot.
I now also tell myself I do not have to OWN every figure I LIKE. And that helps.

Adrian
I agree Adrian - and the 'look don't touch' mantra works for me half the time. Also many of us get caught up on 'what if it goes OOP' which I am guilty of occasionally but have recently tried to reason with myself that there will always be another figure just as good that is available, whatever happens - and probably even better ones that haven't been produced yet. But the logic doesn't always work! Another pitfall is good value sales on PF - if something I've had my eye on comes up I'm usually doomed.

Cheers
Mat

Very true Paul. I've recently created an inventory of my 'loft of shame' as the family call it and really shocked myself how much I had accumulated and the cost of it all (even though most is bought through deals etc) - and I'm not even done yet. When I told Sarah she just said "you shouldn't feel guilty about it , it's something you love". I am truly blessed - but I don't think her attitude is going to help stem the tide of figures!

Cheers

Can you get her to phone my wife then, please.....lol

I read this and can sympathise. Luckily most of my master plan is in stock only Gordon has caused me some pain with his cuirassier officer and hussars, Pegaso with Lasalle and now MM releases. Before that were cuirassier trumpeters and then the Tommys War figures are interesting and on the list.

My wife got mad at me recently when a parcel arrived. I had the last laugh as it was something for the home and not a model!!!!

We can and should all have a chuckle about our grey armies, but sometimes I honestly feel bad about buying such expensive stuff anf then doing nothing with it.
I know and enjoy the rush of buying, anticipating arrival, unpacking and admiring the precious bits of metal or resin, but after looking at the last one some sqeeziness often creeps in: the small odds that these figures actually get painted feel bad, but I admit to sometimes also feeling some shame about spending this kind of money on such totally unessential things. This is what mainly keeps my buying down.

Anyway, things are of course easily resolved by calling our fgures essential to our well-being! Which they sometimes are...on bad days.

cheers,
Adrian

.

Only one of those is possible....I shall post a road map to Perth straight away :D

P

All are possible if you have a time machine!!!!

Shame I haven't got one as then we could get uniform details totally correct but we might well have some surprises in store !!!
