I forgot to photograph last night's progress, pretty much just adjusting the face and painting the trousers.

Today I mostly painted the jacket, photo hasn't quite picked up the tonal variations, also re primed the eppulets and insignia.

Not sure if I'll get back to the bench again this week so this will have to sustain me until next week.

Cheers Simon

Pow! Just like that...
You certainly are back at the bench.
Lovely rich colours.
The turn late C19 & early C20 French uniforms are a delight.
Nice work.

Cheers David it's good to be back, BUT Granddaughter all day tomorrow, a trip to Kwikfit and setting off to Newark on Friday for the Stonedead Festival on Saturday and a day's recovery when we get back on Sunday. It was a brief but very enjoyable afternoon at my desk.

I do like this period of French uniforms, my next two figure build will be one French and one Spanish, both in red trousers, blue tunics and sun helmets. I feel I need to get away from this colour scheme for a while after that.

Cheers Simon

Ooh, enjoy the festival.
Newark has a really nice civil war museum (English, not the important one), with a smashing café. Small, but well worth visiting if you get time.

Sounds good but I won't have time, actually meeting Paul Handley on the Friday evening as he lives in Newark. All day Saturday will be having my ear drums further abused, looking forward to the headliner Saxon, then on the road south after breakfast on the Sunday. It will take me the rest of the day to recover, the hip is really playing havoc at the moment the added pain is leaving me very tired all the time, it's a real pain in the arse, well very close anyway.!

Cheers Simon

Thanks Kev, yeah the weather looks none too good for the weekend, typical.

Cheers Simon

Have a grand weekend

Cheers David, unfortunately the M3, M25 and the A1 were horrible, added 2 hours to the journey and then a crash in the middle of Newark meant we couldn't get through to the hotel.

Got there in the end and just waiting to go out in the rain for the festival! Still really looking forward to it, KK's Priest and Saxon what's not to like.

Cheers Simon
