The one thing I avoid is trying to freehand shield designs. Although, in one instance, I drew a page full of celtic shield designs (simple squiglies 
) and copied to a waterslide decal sheet for a 54mm Andrea figure which worked out to my satisfaction.
For my recent 54mm Roman centurions from Altores & Andrea, I've used the Peddinghaus 1/32 scale but wondered if there are any options in larger scales? I do have andrea transfers for medieval heraldry shields which I will most likely just copy to waterslides (which is the only way I would want to do it)
