Beautiful sculpting! Especially the helmet.

this figure is copied - tout-court -from the reconstruction in table 1 picture 3 from Osprey MAA 425 "Roman Military Clothing (3) - AD 400 - 640", a very good publication of my friend Raffaele D'Amato (and Graham Sumner).

It's great to see something Romanesque but completely different, AL never fails to deliver the most amazing sculpts. Having looked at the Book illustration this is going to be a real painters piece.
