Hi Einion looks red on my monitor and of course my eyes.
Your monitor is off then Hardy ;) The background is a near-perfect neutral grey, assuming that shows the colour balance of both photos is spot on all areas of fabric are orange - more and more toward yellow as we move from shadow through the midtone to highlight colour.

FWIW the colour they wore is generally thought now to have been crimson; opposite side of red.

Hi Einion, monitor is fine and eyes are fine. It's red. Many thanks for your interest. Hardy

Amazing painting,as allways Hardy;) bronz effect on the metal parts is fabulous, skin is just perfect in my eyes. Looking for to see the shield motive.
best regards,
R.L.

Hi Hardy,

Your work is always impressive and so fascinating.

The way you give 3 dimensions to the fabric give an impression of depth. And the skin tone are very nice.

And on top of that when you take close picture, it always look good.

I must also say that the transition between highlight and shadows are very nice.

I would love see you in action to understand your technique.

Ok now I'm gonna stop looking at your stuff cause I'm gonna go crazy and wont paint anymore and start selling my stash of figures:eek::rolleyes:

Thanks for sharing

Hardy,
Stunning work as usual!
Beautiful textures and details, I will follow the next steps.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Ciao Hardy

Outstanding work to date on this lovely figure. I really like the flesh tone and the way the cloak is shaping up. Will keep a close watch on this one.

Cheers

I didn't make any intimation that your eyes were off Hardy! I was very careful not to.

What I'm saying is it's not red in the images (remembering that the colour information within photos is independent of monitor settings). Here, let me illustrate the point with some typical paint colours as landmarks so there's no confusion:

If this is a semantics issue as I suspect it might be, relating to the dividing line between orange and red (which is woolly at the best of times) then I hope this helps.

Einion

Hi Einion. Well this is so confusing? Maybe you could post some images of your recent work to explain the real point? Hardy
