Hi Friends.
I've been working on this since my last figure.
I managed to drop it and cause damage, fixed It, but the rigging isn't so straight anymore.
Not sure what I will be doing next, either a figure or bust.
All the best.
Ralph.

Very well done Ralph!(y) .. I have always had a 'soft-spot', for ships! The last time I had a shot at one! was when I was about 18. A British, 74 gun, 'Ship of the Line'. How many weeks did I try to get the rigging right! even with the supplied 'Jig'. That was one of my greatest efforts! .......... Failed!:arghh: Bloody good fun though!:D

I suppose this is when, I got my hands on my father's oil paint! and started to tinker with them.

Mark.

Thank's Mark,much appreciated.
It took me a few days to rig this.I total..ish there is about 150 piece's of rigging.

That looks very nice Ralph. I gave some thought to doing a bit of ship modelling myself as an at sea project but I doubt I'd be able to get a ship home in one piece. I'll stick to armour for the time being, they're a bit more robust.
Thanks Roger,much appreciated.
So easy to damage a ship in transport.Damaged a few when I took them to shows many years ago.
At least I managed to salvage! this one.

Just taken this to show a mate over the back as to how it should look, He did one last year first model his made in years, He lost half the smaller bits on the floor and those he did find were stuck in place along with carpet fluff. His model resembles more like what the ship looks like now. Error or cunning plan not sure.
Nice work.

Thanks Mick,much appreciated.
Stuck in place with carpet fluff:D:eek:,so funny.
Imagine if your mate also tried adding Toms Modelworks detail set(as did I)I think he would have gone loopy.
Ralph.

The old boy lives on his own and has always worked on ships. His shipping knowledge is second to non. He came round one day saw me working on one of my figs and thought he would have a go at a ship. Problem is he has fingers like bananas . I lent him some tweezers and some other bits and bobs when he started on HMS Victory, but after a while the tools were returned and the Victory remains in dry dock as a Work to be continued.
One Day.
Mick

Ralph that is terrific.

Iwandered over to the Maritime museum in Liverpool recently to see their model.
It's over 6 feet long, maybe more, but I couldn't see it.

Beautiful ship, beautiful work.
