Hi guys
Well did a bit of dry fitting together of the Andrea cowboy , I really love the figure and I am looking forward to getting paint on metal it's a big chunk of metal so my need to go to gym will not be needed .... Not that I ever went there lol.
I do think there could have been a couple of little additions. A canteen , knife and perhaps bedrolls duster coat .to attach at the rear of the saddle
I say this as this a big chunk of money to lay out , my only other little gripe is the fitting together of the horse the joints are going to need a bit of filling and sanding which at the end of the day is not outside of my filling and sanding capabilities but for the price I did expect a better fit , perhaps I am being picky I don't Know but £160 is a chunk of money and it's not like the company has not been around for a while I know metal is different perhaps I don't know .
Any way a few pics
Cheers Chris

Chris,
Love the Western genre, films etc. I am interested in this one, so will follow. As you say, for the money, it should fit a dream.

Chris: Yes, I agree that £160 is wow, expensive. Altho, I realize
that equestrian figures actually are two figures, the rider and the
horse. I will say however, that this particular "duo" is loaded
with all kinds of details, eye candy. And the finished piece of art
will really command attention. I will also follow this project with
a lot of interest. As Viking Bob said, regarding the USA Western
Film Genre, indeed, I have always been a big fan of John Ford.
Altho, strangely enough, the Academy Awards he won for "BEST
PICTURE" did not include any of his westerns; i.e. She Wore a
Yellow Ribbon, Fort Apache, et cetera! Rick

I agree with your evaluations of the kit Chris. Will follow your progress with interest.

This would make a superb duo piece
Remingtons "Dash for the timber "
This in 120m would be awesome painted or bronzed
I agree guys it's a beaut figure love the position of the cowboy slightly offset in the saddle and yes it's two figs
It's just that the arms need filling the hires the bloody ears lol no big deal but I saw a completed figure in the section on the site it was by Fer minitures no filling which is a big bonus when painting figures with across the body arm positions
Sounds like I am being a bit picky but Andrea are a big company and small independents are showing them up with there attention to detail for the consumer , we put our money away and often spend more than we should .......what me never hell I am saving up for nest years euro militater lol ....did I just say that I love the western thing in every way having lived in Arizona and New Mexico I was in heaven .
I will try to do justice to this beautiful figure I just want the company's to pay a little more attention so I can enjoy my man cave we are fickle old group but we keep putting the money down lol
Peace and love ..... Let's just check my model account
Gordon MMM have not forgot the Para just been on my chin strap with work ..... See what I mean lol

Ya, the cost of this kit ain't no chump change and to have those faults is a bit disappointing to say the least. Nonetheless, I'll be watching your efforts. In your capable hands it'll turn out a beauty!

Will look forward to see the Andrea Cowboy come to life. Thanks for posting.

FYi, I am a big western fan. My Mom's cousin was the western writer, Zane Gray.

Love John Ford westerns: Sons of Katie Elder, Eldorado, Rio Lobo and Comancheros, The Fort Apache/Cavalry genre, and Horse Soldiers
But also love The Magnificent Seven and Silverado! Can't go wrong with a Western anytime!

Good luck on the Andrea kit. You will be bench pressing some weight in lifting the kit to paint. Series 77 kits had the safe effect years ago.

"The Shootist" comes close, a sort of elegy to the dying West. Notwithstanding that Duke was dying too. Quite few 'old-timers' in it were having their 'swansongs'; James Stewart, John Carradine, Richard Boone, Alfred Dennis (barber), Dick Winslow (streetcar driver, who is given the red satin cushion). I find it quite a moving film.

Yeah......I remember him doing an......interview, on set at the time to a....BBC Film crew and he was asked....

"Why did you come up with this .......long pause style of delivering your lines?"

He said.

"We-ell ...... you know, when I was startin' out in bit parts and needed to......make an.....impact, ......
I figured they cain't turn the camera away till I've......
finished the line I'm doin' and it bought me........
more screen time in a minor role......
kinda works real sweet don' it?"

I Loved that and it kinda do don' it.
