More progress, he now has a head, the leather stock is painted in acrylic with oil over the top. The facing colour has been done but is a little bright for the "Bright Yellow" of the 28th. I have had to do the sash as I have not fitted the haversack or canteen, which will be painted off the model.

Now the update pic........

Thank you for looking and stopping by.

Still a way to go with this but he is looking better, the jacket has been painted in acrylics, highlighted and shaded.
I will go over the yellows again, just to tone them down. Knapsack to paint, as well as the spontoon and anything that shows up in the photo.

Hope you all had a good new year and now back to painting.

He's coming a long a treat. Which paints are you using?

Cheers

Huw

Hi Huw, the reds are the set from Andrea red paint set ACS-04 and because Sgts and above wore a scarlet jacket but not as bright as the officers, I have gone for this by using the 1st light colour and the highlighted with 3rd light. This will get toned down with dust and dirt by the end of painting.

I like the bright colours. It's coming together nicely.

Thanks for the coment, it will be toned down, many thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Another update,

The white lace has been done and the white leathers have been undercoated, ready for the final colours of off white and given a worn look.
I have painted the knapsack and unable to come up with a painted design, I chose to paint XXVIII. I suspect the cloth would be from old jackets and the yellow from the facings, unless that is, some one knows better.
The badge on the pyramid base, is a replica beret back badge worn by the Glosters. I don't think I could afford the real back badge from 1815.
