Thank you Chris, I rarely buy any of my bases, my uncle likes his wood turning and occasionally makes me some odd shaped & turned bases. I chose this tree cut section as I like a tight base to present my dioramas, it’s natural shape played it’s part in presenting the charge narrowing to one field gun as the target for the composition. In viewing the scene (I think) it still works from all sides and angles, with multiple little stories with none of the individual model detail hidden from each other.
 
Until I watched this great instructional video I wasn`t aware of the amount of redetailing that went into the artillery piece - well done!

Thanks for noticing the scratch detailing of the field gun, that kind of modelling is my passion in the hobby. Whilst very basic detail wise, the 1/35 Emhar basic gun shape gives a lot of scope to recreate the many variants. :)
