This is looking superb, a very striking figure indeed. Be careful with the stitching - it's more like a seam than visible stitching, see : https://www.amrevmuseum.org/collection/linen-hunting-shirt Keep it subtle......

Cheers Nigel .....thanks for link ......do I add the seam with wire or try building it up with paint ........going to have to carefully think about this ......

.....”to seam or not to seam that is the question ? “

You don't want to risk spoiling it, so you could leave it as is. The seams are not that obvious on the real thing.

If you do decide to do it, a very thin line of wire or putty seems to be the way to go IMO. It might be hard to get a nice even thin seam line with paint.

Tough one, stitches were one thing but a whole seam.like that, not so sure it's worth the effort. It will be so small that for anyone to see it they'll have to closer than they should be to the model

Cheers Simon

Cheers Guys ...both valid comments ref stitching.......tried my finest wire .......still looked too much ....putty.....think Id have difficulty keeping it standard in all areas ....might add a little more shadow where fringes meet the cloth

Going to finish the belt today .......still contemplating the hair .......maybe a auburn , like a dark ginger .....

Off shopping ....Mmmmm ....the delights

Catch up later

I'd select what works best for you, don't over complicate it if you don't have.
you've made a cracking job of it so far.

Enjoy the shopping. :D

PS Shopping was wonderful .....of course !

Interesting looking bust, very "un-military" appearance. He is coming along nicely.

Thank you , certainly not that military looking ...but most wore many versions of the hunting shirt

Main belt all finished , working on smaller strap

Stay tuned

That's looking really good. I think just a more pronounced shadow line at the edge of the fringing is all you need.......

Nice, so fair hair for this fella, looking forward to seeing how you do thr hat.

Now go sort those sprouts, better job than mine I have to pick my wife, daughter and mother in law up from the pub!

Cheers Simon

Excellent choice on the hair colour, looks really good. This one is really coming together!

Thanks for yr feedback

He now looks like this , will push the highs on fringe a bit more probably , the blue is actually more a gray/blue but this will change once I get the shadows and highs sorted

Still need to finish the face fully as well ...after the clothing !

Going to go for a black tie rather than spotted will look better against the red/blue I hope !

All comments welcome , click on for larger image !

Happy benchtime

Holy Camoly, Kevin, this is nuts! You have crossed that great divide! This is aweosme above all your prior work and a Beauty, to say the least. You have nailed the flesh work superbly, not to mention all else, Bravo, Kevin!;)
