Nice choice Nap, not that there was anything wrong with the last one, the frills need to be red though not the vivid fushia pink on the ref picture.

Cheers Simon

Thanks mate , just wasn’t happening with the other version , now all base coated...fringes in RED ...fear not !!!
Will do the neck tie in a spotty version

Much more happier now !

Simply amazing work Nap! Your work just gets better and better! :)

Cheers,
Ken

Just like yours Ken ...hope to see more soon but good to have you look in

Happy benchtime one and all

Good choice Kev, that last version wasn't working for me. All the modern and contemporary references I could pull up lacked the striped effect you had.

Thanks for yr feedback

He now looks like this , will push the highs on fringe a bit more probably , the blue is actually more a gray/blue but this will change once I get the shadows and highs sorted

Still need to finish the face fully as well ...after the clothing !

Going to go for a black tie rather than spotted will look better against the red/blue I hope !

Happy benchtime

That really works, it hangs together much better now. Nice combo of colours and t hyis is going to be a belter.

hey, well this is looking very much better ,very beautiful with that blue color, what a difference
great work Kev ;)

Mario

I’m happier with it now !

Looks good Kev must admit the blue does look better than the stripey brown.

Cheers Simon

Cheers Simon hopefully it will do !

Thanks Nigel , not sure about the belter comment but it’s definitely hanging together better now

Although I thought the stripey uniform was well executed, this does have more impact.
Congrats
Melanie

Cheers Mel , hopefully the impact will still be there after my attempt at brush swirling !

VERBAL UPDATE........coat all finished , collar and bow tie done

Will give the coat a check and then do a quick piccy

Need to complete the flesh .........unsure what colour hair to go for .....any thoughts welcome

Started on the cross belt , going for a leather effect , the thinner one will be a ‘white leather’

Stay tuned

Have FUN @ the bench

Sounds good mate, the trials and tribulations of the figure painter, there's quite a bit about at the mo. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Cheers Simon

I did like the original, although I think your choice in changing the colour is the right one.
It makes him stand out more.
Nice work.

Malc

Thank you Malc , here’s some quickly taken pics before a hopefully long session attge bench ...still need to tidy up a few things on the clothing but it’s getting there ...happier now though

The blue looks brighter than in reality , it’s more a bluesy/french blue gray

All comments welcome

Thank you .. it's all about enjoying ....no matter what we paint

What Malc said, this is becoming a really beautiful figure.
