"The Balustrade"
Vignette Base Series
1/35 / 54mm

Balis 14.jpg

I just received the Balustrade from Military Miniatures Warehouse and was astounded upon opening of the immense detail this diorama accessory has.

Manufacture's Note:

The Balustrade represents the door section of a Baroque building with a tile floor and balustrade in front of it. The beautifully decorated door is flanked by nicely carved columns and the door is topped by a broken pediment in which putti (cherubs) have a play. All in all, this vignette base has several detailed decorations that cry out to be painted! It could easily be populated by up to three 1/35 or 54mm figures. This attractive little set will surely produce a very atmospheric vignette.

Above you see the well packed (bubble wrap around each part) arriving in a well made sturdy cardboard box. There is a full color guide as well as an instruction sheet provided.

Above are the 2 brass rings for the door carefully sealed in a small baggie to ensure against loss.

Above is the floor section showing the well worn threshold at the door. The locator tabs for the balustrade as well as the wall section help provide exact location for assembly.

Above is the full page color guide / suggestion sheet for reference in painting.

Conclusion:

One of the best quality diorama accessory I have seen. The beautiful detail provides the painter with a background quality rarely seen in the miniature market. The only trimming / cutting I saw that was needed was at the top of the door. A few seconds of work. Highly recommended.

I ordered from MM, purchased a similar piece and was very pleased! Reality in scale really does a fantastic job and the reference photos really help.
