Thank you mate, after the disappointment of the MAIM heads being to small and lacking in detail, these head replacements by Reedees are perfect in look and scale and come as a huge relief after thinking I was going to have to sculpt each figure head from scratch.
Sorry just seeing this now really great stuff ,,,,, I have a miniart 1/16 musketeers these heads should work on those as well ? Again great stuff

Thank you kind sir, I was worried the close fighting would make the scene look confusing or unnatural. Appreciated.[/quo

I think you've pitched this just right, the nature of their drills would mean a tight fighting line. I'm loving how this is coming along and is making me want to do something similar. (not Romans though)
Can anyone recommend a retailer that stocks free time? :D
Keep it up!
Scotty.

Thank you Scotty, very kind of you. I can highly recommend these figures not easy but get good results reconfiguring. I’m going to use the same figures for something completely different after this project.

Νow that your masterpiece reaches the end maybe it is time for us to see what they are fighting for, to meet their enemies too:) ! It was a fantastic sbs so far and your talent is obvious! Gongratulations!!!

Looks really impressive, Marcus - I love what can be achieved with these figures and with the addition of Steve Readdie's heads for individuality. Top job, look forward to seeing it for real!(y)
Thank you mate, without Steve’s addition these figures would never have looked as good so his intervention and support really helped bring the scene to life. Will take it to the Cov IPMS show, now moved to August this year.

Thank you mate. I tried to get the scene to work with Iceni warriors but couldn’t get it to work, I would like to do a figure in future though, maybe a smaller vignette. :)

The work has come to an end, after a productive weekend sorting the scenic base. I created a simple rugged landscape of exposed rock and scrub, ancient Britain. Being a battle scene, where many of the Roman IX legion met their maker, I wanted to depict the furry and intensity of the fight. The final stand of the legion must have been a desperate and bloody affair fighting the Iceni at Camulodunum (modern Colchester).
