Many thanks SG.. I wasn't aware about the cap! I'll leave the letterings for the painting process..are to small for my sculping skillsHello Gerard, After you mentioned changing the belt buckle to show the lone star, it reminded that the top of the cap, that your rendering, also had a star on top of it. In addition to the star, it also had a number 1, and the word Texas, in raised lettering. The canteen also had a star, number, and Texas painted on it. Here is a great painting by Kenneth Ferguson, showing the detail I've mentioned:View attachment 145292Thought this might give you an additional reference for details, if you haven't seen them already. Thanks SG, those photoetches can be usefull, but first i'll try to paint themHello Gerard, As an alternative to painting the number, and letters, you could use photo-etch, or even dry transfers to represent them. Inside the Armour has a great set of photo-etch that might work. You can see them here: www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/insidethearmour.html Hope this helps. Regards, SG
Surely Nap, That will give a pretext to put some colour over the grey coatHi Gerard ,

Thanks SG, I'm painting the lettering at this right moment! I'll post a pic later..Beautiful progress with the painting Gerard. Love that blanket roll. Still plan to do the lettering on the cap??? This is turning out to be a great piece, can't wait to see the flag finished. Best of luck the rest of the way. Regards, SG
