The Monocled Buccaneer: This is a fantasy Naval/Pirate bust I picked up from ebay a while ago,
it's roughly 1/5 scale, so it was quite a lump of resin to work with.
Originally it was just the head & neck plus hat with a lot of the weird bits & pieces already on it, such as the toad & skull etc, so in my own madness I added the shoulders & chest sculpted out of milliput, there's also a few bits & pieces I've added to the hat/ menagerie, well to be honest the whole thing is a jumble of all sorts! The monocle was made from some copper wire & clear plastic, the chain is gold that came out of the odds & sods box, the shells etc were little bits picked up off of the beach whilst on holiday.
All mostly painted in oils & mounted onto a rough piece of good old solid English oak,
He was a lot of fun to paint with many chuckles during the painting process as you can imagine
Hope you like him
Cheers

Very nice painting. BTW, the hat is from a Rackham bust, exactly the same. I can look up the name if you want to?
Once again : great painting.

Cheers,
