Hi Rick

Cheers for the musical interlude....

Like Rob that's different than I thought you'd do , definately thought of it as more colourful but we shall see if it changes

Either way looking forward to seeing more ...including the Foo in place

Happy Foo fooing

That surprised me. Don't know why but I was expecting something fantastical like emerald green or sapphire blue. I guess I am accustomed to seeing pirates with brightly coloured parrots on the shoulder

Thanks for the comments, guys. There was a method to my madness in choosing to paint the foo bird in drab colors. I wanted my pirate to be different. You're both right most often you see a pirate painted with a colorful parrot, macaw, penguin - well maybe not a penguin - sitting on his shoulder. I felt a drab foo bird would garner attention, just in a different way by virtue of its size relative to the pirate and the fact it wasn't the standard colorful pirate fare. I also wanted the visual emphasis to be on the pirate, not on the bird and felt that a drab bird next to a very colorful pirate - hence the ginger hair and beard, Kev - would help to achieve that end.

Did it work? I dunno. I"ll b putting up some final pics of the two happy warriors together later today after a little clean up. Please come back, take a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Rick

To Foo or not to Foo that is the question ........

Now I see your way of thinking , the Foo does work well against the colourful Pete the pirate

You've certainly enjoyed the time on both pirate and the chicken ........

Look forward to seeing the final pics in Completed forum

We wonder what's next from you

Have fun

I can see your logic in the colour scheme too. The plain black hat and drab coloured bird do frame and enhance the colour of the face and scarf very well. Cleverly done. (y)
