Large doll figures can look startlingly realistic, I remember when I first saw photos of them in one of the old mags, Campaigns I think. But let's not forget these are 1/4 scale - large-scale garage kits, that rely on paint and sculpting only, can look nearly as impressive in reproductions. In the flesh there's no comparison though: mail, plate armour, leather, cloth and embroidery can all be the real thing and it can be stunning to look at. Waaay too much work though! :lol:
