I will also bring SWMBO, we are arriving on Tuesday and staying 6 nights in Hotel Milan Speranza.
I thought Stresa be a better place to bring her than Folkstone, it sure looks sweet in the Pictures.

See you at the Umbrella-museum. ;)

Hi Janne, we had always talked about visiting the Italian Lakes and I have always wanted to go to an Expo...........couldn't believe my luck when Stresa got the vote and we can combine Holiday with Hobby. .............Keith

hi I went to world expo in 2000 in Glasgow and entered a couple of models, I would love to enter stresa but how do people manage to transport their models without them getting damaged?/badger

How are you travelling there?

Going by airplane there surely is a bag limit. I take my models in a carry on wood box. The plinths are secured within it with blue tac.
Biggest risc is security, who usually want to see whats in the box. My take is that I tell them that it is fragile statuettes and I therefor would like to handle them myselves but can show them. Also I try to make sure no one else touches the box when it comes out of the X-ray machine. So I make sure I have nothing on me that will stop me going through the scanning gate. When travelling with other modellers, one usually goes through first and then takes care of the model boxes.

Sphere is selling premade transport boxes.

Just remember that most airline companys only allow one carry on.
