Hi Simon

Nice updates on this

Great to have a chat at BC ...albeit quick !........loved seeing the figures close up you’d painted , they really did look impressive in reality

Following this thread with interest

Cheers Kev, it was a great show, easily the best in the South of the country. It may sound defeatist but I'm glad the Aldershot show has died, I hated running around and being too busy to take the sights in. Take care and see you around.

This cold my wife kindly gave me is proving to be harder going than usual, so not been up to too.much last few days, so small progress.

The trousers are now as good as they are going to get until he is nearly finished and I can tie loose ends and tones together. Must admit I am now using more Scale Colour paints, not only matt but they paint a damned sight easier than other brands I have in stock.

I decided the sash, cummerbund, cloth round the waist or whatever you want to call it needed doing before the jacket but was too white for my aching eyes so the jacket got a quick wash of blue.

Evidence of my progress;

The small fella in the first piccie is my next project, just popped him in to show the size compared to a 54mm figure.

Good progress here. Are you using the Scale Colour Artists paints or the ones in bottles? I really like the Artists ones.

The ones in the bottle mate, I'll slowly replace the bottles before I venture into the artist realms, ideally would like to watch someone use them before I commit.

He is coming along nicely, I like the look of the Hobbit sized one as well.

Ha, yes he does hobbit sized, but he's going to be a German Kurassier by the time he's ready to paint. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Simon

Glad you enjoyed the day .......I was rather busy but it was great seeing your figures up close ........they looked really good in scale size so all credit to you ...loved the Belgium and the Indian/British Empire especially

This current fellow is looking good and you are nothing but a tease ....with a look at the “wee fellow”

Kev, Malc thanks both he is a great figure to paint. As mentioned the wee fella is going to be a Kürassier, but I wimped out of the kűrasse and helmet. May be another day

Today hasn't been the most productive of days at the bench, all I have managed is to paint the back pack for this fella. I find leaving this sort of thing till the end means I rush it in an attempt to finish and start something else. So here it is, oh and remember it is only 54mm.

Got to keep it safe now or I'll lose it.

Hi Simon

That’s a dashed fine piece of painting on the backpack ....hard to believe it’s just 54

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

Cheers Kev, somedays it all just flows perfectly, well it feels like that, today was one of those days and the painting was very enjoyable.
