Very nice work on the backpack, it looks very good. Looking forward to seeing this one come together......

Well today has been really good, so many fantastic posts across the forum, we really do have a lot of talented individuals, love it.

Anyhow, been sculpting and painting today, the sculpt will be my next WIP a Kűassier from the Kaisers army. I painted the Mobile Gardes tunic today, luckily I got my package from Element Games with more Scale Color paints and used some of them. I think the highlights need building up.more. they are there just rather subtle at the mo.

Don't go too far if you do change those highlights, in fact don't go very far at all, at the moment you have a really good balance on the intensity of colour from the face, down the tunic and trousers to the boots.
He is looking great.

Cheers Rob, glad you like him. I'm not going for high contrast, just a few higher lights but still subtle, won't be a pot of white anywhere near.

Hi Simon

Agree with Robs comments , there's a nice equality on the colours on this but if anything I would push the sash highs only to show a difference.

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Cheers Kev, well both you and Rob say the same thing so I guess I'll listen. Still got lots of other bits to paint.

Looking really nice
Good to see progress and the finished article coming together
I like the tones of blue, grey and red.

Cheers David, seems everyone but me likes the blue, I still think it needs more highlight but have been told not to! Glad you like it anyway.

Cheers Simon

Have to say it’s looking very good indeed keep it going, battle through the cold keep painting it will take your mind off it.

Hi Simon,
Sorry mate just caught up on this post. Amazing progress look forward to seeing the final figure.
Great catching up with last Sunday at BUGLE CALL.
Terry.

Cheers Terry, good to see you too, did you manage to bump into Dunstan at all? Thanks for your kind comments nice to know I'm doing OK.

Cheers Simon

Excellent progress, the shadows and highlights look spot on to me.

Malc

Malc, many thanks for that, I'll post pictures when I can, today is a bit hectic. Against the advice of painters better than.me I added a small subtly lighter high tone, probably won't even see it in the photos.

Cheers Simon

Steve, many thanks for that mate, colds a good one but only a cold so no real worries, today though is a bit on the mad side.

I had the Sapper dismantled mostly while still at the show, going to clean it up and have it on the bench fairly soon I hope. Hope the weather is being kind in Leeds.

Having only recently reviewed this figure I have been very keen to start it, so here goes.

Very little clean up required and only a slight gap to fill attaching his right arm. I added the waterbottle and bayonet, the latter I am sure I will regret before he is done, I should have left it off to avoid breaking it.

Primed as normal with cellulose gray car primer and a couple of coats of Vallejo Elfic Flesh and he's ready to go.

I have only base coated the face and added some underpainting to contour the face.

I'll leave that to dry for a while as I'm being sent to the shops!

Cheers Simon

Beatiful looking figure,
I like the base color you used for this chap.
Following with interest.
