Nigel - Thanks, I think the approach could have real potential. It's surprisingly straightforward to manipulate the 'mannequin' in blender, even at this stage the poses are more 'lifelike than I think I could manage using wire etc in this scale, particularly where the clothing is close fitting - I think getting muscle under tight hose is probably beyond me but here it seems pretty easy so far. I was thinking the other day that with a couple of tweaks this could be easily adapted to other periods - just remove the halberd, bow and knife and people could replace them with whatever they fancied. It would also be really easy to adjust the scales. If could worked on re-sculpting/tweaking faces it would be even better.
 
A little work on clothes tonight; a stool wielding archer looking like a rugby player on a night out and a Landsknecht in rather ragged doublet. At this point I’m starting to wish I’d removed their heads earlier. IMG_1654.jpegIMG_1652.jpeg
 
This is really interesting, and looks like it's coming along great, definitely can't wait to see how it turns out👍
