Hi All,
Just a thought should we add a specific tunic section to the uniform reference section!

What I have in mind is to have a photo of both the front and rear, this thought came to mind whilst helping a number of people with reference material for sculpting projects (just as handy for painters too).
The hardest quest is always the reverse detail on jackets and tunics as most period and cabinet photo's only show the front detail. In museum's also you do not often get a chance to view the reverse of the tunic.

I have not given any thought to how it could be laid out i.e. by regiment, country ect. someone else can decide that and how to resize the images.
Here are a few example I have collected lately to wet your appetite.
cheers
Richie

Like that Richie

The rear in particular is difficult to get info on at times

Think we should have just 3 sections

Cavalry and Infantry and Misc

All countries coukd be in each section

Great Idea.
No trouble in finding the front of a tunic. Details of the rear, collar, cuffs shoulder straps are like hens teeth.

Agreed! Photos or good quality illustrations of the back sides of service coats, tunics, winter garments - even hats! - can be tough to find. Simple line drawings of uniforms can be helpful to the sculptor, but also difficult to find.

Unfortunately I don't think I can help much - I've already posted all the relevant photos - fronts and backs - in my collection. But if I can come up with anything else, I'll contribute!

All the best,
Dan
