It's getting easier, but this really is the last aircraft I am building.
Can't wait to be done, and then start on the Italian dio.

That'd be a shame David. Have another go after a break and you'll find it easier (remember the first pair of eyes you painted?)

Of course the stretchy rigging stuff is popular these days, but we Luddites prefer the old fashioned method using drilled holes and fishing line which I personally find much easier (In fact I enjoy rigging almost more than any other part of the builds) Just to prove it can be done here's a recent 1/72 Spad of mine complete with doubled flying wires
By the way really enjoyed your choices of listening music

Phew! Well, true to form with any kind of DIY: by the time you get finished, you know what you're doing.
All the strands of elastic are now in place (or at least, all the ones I'm attaching).
Next up is airbrushing.

10 minutes mixing paint and thinner, 5 minutes airbrushing, 10 minutes cleaning.

(I know a farmer, who looks after the farm.
With water clear, he cares for all his harvest...)

Airbrushing completed, to my absolute satisfaction.
(Badger brushes are grand)
And two arrows almost finished. I needed replacement and spare, courtesy of my breaking one on Saturday when I hit the frame (out of practice; head injury).

(Sublime sounds..... :))

Nothing heretical at all - we all need to spend time in other genres to keep our overall modelling skills up to scratch.

My neighbours have family in the RAF, so I made these two aircraft for them:

Starboard side.jpg Cockpit view.jpg and IMG_0824.jpg

and my sister asked me to repair a couple of very tatty Guillows models minus bits of wing, tail fin, undercarriage etc., for her vintage business;

IMG_0885.jpg and IMG_0883.jpg

Now I'm back to figure modelling.........

Looking good. I too am engaging in some light heresy, building a 1/32 FW190. In fairness it does have a pilot so I've painted one figure, although as he'll only be seen through the cockpit canopy he is a little rough and ready.

All caught up, looks like an interesting if somewhat frustrating at times project all eased along with some good tunes. I really should look in these boards more often!

Just applied the 5th, and I hope, final coat of matt varnish to this model (still drying on the stabilisers).
That done, I just need to paint the tricolour on the tail and it's finished.

("Only a fool would say that...")

Ghost....?
We've lived in this semi detached house since 2002.
I've spent many days working at home, in silence when not on the phone or in Teams meetings.
Neighbours have come & gone. The last 2 were single people, who worked full-time.
When they're out, I hear someone moving around next door. This morning being a case in point.
Needless to say, we don't tell the neighbour.

Nice sounds oh and a really nice aeroplane, what matt varnish are you using?

A ghost next door, sounds very interesting, so long as it doesn't interfere with your modelling that is. All the sounds in my house are definitely down to cats, especially at night. We keep meaning to book a room at the George and Pilgrim on Glastonbury, supposed to be the most haunted pub in the UK. Never goes to.plan though.

Cheers Simon

It's the only one I have had success with. And it is very reliable; just needs plenty of thinning, which of course means it lasts longer.
