Hi all!

After Goth weekend I got the obligatory cold so decided ( in my delerium ) to do this little gem!

I had already cleaned, mounted and primed it as I really wanted to do this piece.

The sculpt by Moz is great and after doing the grey for the initial boxart and then seeing Iguazzu's sublime colour art work I scrounged one off Stu at Euro last year and stasched it :)

The Pugri is still in the early stages and I'm basing it loosely on one from here. It's a 1913 Probyns horse example.

Pictures... Btw. I have no idea what colour his eyes were so I thought blue would help offset the blues of the pugri :)

That IS a powder free vinyl glove wrapped around the piece to allow for handling :)

And please weigh in with any info as my knowledge of this period is virtually nil LOL

:)

Wow. . . you're doing a superb job on this figure (one that I have thoughts of purchasing). Look forward to the finished piece.

Great job on this so far Mark, like you my knowledge on this is almost nil. Got this one in the early stages myself, so will be following mate.
Barrie.

Nice looking face and I am glad you cleared up what the "protective" cover is......I was wondering, you know, with Goth weekend and all! ;)
This is going to look nice when done.

Hi Mark
I love this .....the work on the Pugri is wonderful great use of tones and light really does bring the material to life facial art work is excellent will be following this with great interest .
Cheers Chris

As usual up to you excellent standards but if I was to make a critical comment it would be that I would have expected his skin colour to be even darker due to the sun, climate etc especially as the turban gives much less protection than the brim of a hat.Only an opinion.

Very nicely painted Mark.Love the face and the blues are brilliant.Look forward to seeing him progress.
Brian

Thanks everyone! Proper reply tomorrow cos it's late and I'm at work in the morning :)

:)

More work on the head gear, next will be some dark bands, (thin) and then some shading to hopefully pull it all together :)

Ometz, Barrie, Steve and Chris .... Thanks chaps :)

Jenghiz .... I thought about a redder, slightly burnt look but looking at the pictures of Probyn posing in the studio shots I can't see any hint of it. I also quite like the contrast of the exotic equipment and his pale complexion, a juxtaposition kinda. And thank you! :)

Brian and Gells ... Thank you!! :)

Marcin ... Thanks! And see below for colour shout outs :)

Swralph, Steve, Maco and David ... Thank you very much!! :)

No update today as work kept me quite busy today and then my add blocker blocked PF!! And I'm off to the pub shortly to play cards and get drunk LOL :)

For the Pugri I used

Base GW Regal Blue
Mid GW Shadow Grey
High Mid with a Tiny touch of AV White

The Gold bands are

Base AV Green Ochre
High Base and AV White 1:1 ( I thinned it well and added it in many layers )
Shade will be AV smoke ( I should have done a burnt Umber Base but Meh! we all make mistakes :) )

Light blue panels are

Base AV Dark Prussian Blue and AV Sky Blue mixed 1:1
High Base and AV White at 2:1

I will need to solidify the shadow on this colour but will wait until I have used the AV Smoke shader first...

Thanks again everyone!

:)

Here he is all wrapped up on the base ( from Pete's Bases ( anyone have a link to him?? ))
