After years of using oil paint, I am starting to experiment with Vallejo Acrylics. I just noticed Vallejo's "Metal Medium."
The Vallejo web site says:
"Metallic Medium (Refractor or Interference Medium) produces an iridescent lustre caused by mica platelets coated with titanium dioxide which interfere with the reflection of light. When mixed with Model Color or Model Air, at 50% of volume, it lightens the color and gives them an iridescent shimmer. When used as final varnish it produces a silky effect. Mixed with other metal acrylics (Model Colors Gold, Silver, Bronze, Brass, Blue Metal, etc.) it reduces color intensity without diminishing the metallic shine."
Has anyone used this to good effect? Is it the kind of thing that might help with painting a metallic object like a cuirass?
Thanks,
Bill McBride
