See how helpful this is.... Now I know who to call next time I crash my motorcycle;)

Colin

I was riding motorcycles for 18 years. What I did whas be awhere of what you got under you. Alot of HP and a great speed with your right hand. Think when you twist that right hand

Now I'm just riding racingbicycles, moving forward with my own muscles.

Well I work part time as a Exercise Coach/Sports Therapist, love multi-sport (swim, bike, run) a lot! Compete in triathlons/Duathlons/Adventure Racing though i'm taking a year off from eventing! I also love the Mountains including Wild Camping. I also have a lazy side, model forums, kicking back in cafes, watching movies, Listening to music, DIY, X-box and read a fair amount, military history, adventure travel, autobiographys, Science.

Interest in modelling well many years ago it was just AFV's now AFV's, 54mm to 120mm figures plus Busts, WW2, Ancients,a little Napoleonics, really getting into Fantasy including anything mechanical(robots)etc, 40k!
Mediums, previously enamels, oils but recently including Acrylics though difficult at the moment. Love weathering techniques, oils, pigments etc!
By the way guys I will post projects here soon just as soon as I've worked how to do it!
Love this thread , thanks for sharing !

A hockey player, eh? Any relation to the Rafalski in the NHL? Hope you stopping playing isn't due to injury... I'm off the ice indefinitely as I had my knee replaced in November. Now I'll have to console myself with watching my son play Junior A next year... he can carry the torch from now on.

Colin

He's my brother-in-law. Nah, I wasn't injured. I could probably have played a month longer, but the guys were nervous playing with a pregnant woman. :D Now to get back in shape...

Nice hockey pics there. :)

I am a graphic designer, illustrator and screenprinter. I own my own company and am partners with my wife. Before that I worked for various DoD contractors in research and development. (shows you how useful that art history degree was) I am a historical reenactor of various periods, have been a technical advisor on various production projects, movies, and documentaries and volunteer with the National Park Service for interpretive history presentations. I was a jouster in my youth but now, common sense and pain have taken over, and have just as much fun as a judge and line marshal for various jousts around the country. Though I still enjoy participating in the skill at arms and ground combat. During the weekday evenings and depending on the need the activity I most enjoy and when I'm not painting or building, I train schutzhund dogs, police dogs, search and rescue and personal protection dogs and work with local law enforcement in tactical training and decoy for national level police dog certifications. I have 4 working german shepherd dogs of my own that have taught me to keep the model room door shut since they do enjoy to help on occasion.

What we do?

Ian software tester for a company that modifies Microsoft Office products to work in secure or government environments. Basically some one program's it I break it :)

Other than that my other main hobby is photography, mainly I still use film, simply because I like it.

Hi, Nick, that's what I do, too, test software. I love it! I especially like what I like to call the "Jurassic Park" syndrome. That's where the system analysts and developers say, "We've designed this function to do this or that, and it can't fail." And then my team gets a hold of it, and we tell them, "The raptors are nibbling your bums." :D

I like trying things in ways the designers never envisioned.

I started my career in the "real world" as a bill collector, calling credit card debtors. That was fun, I can tell you. I did that long enough to enroll in grad school for an MA in education, tried teaching, hated it because of all of the extra non-teaching crap we expect teachers to do, became a banker, then moved to IT.

Other hobbies: I like beer and collect beer glasses and steins (Kruege, to my German friends), and I am a home-brewer. I also ride bike (bicycle), for exercise and to raise money for worthy causes, and I belong to a small theater, where I do stage lighting and other technical work, as well as appear on stage from time to time.

Prost!

Well, my avatar says it all... This being Texas, I have a small herd of little British cars - two Midgets and a B roadster. Otherwise, I read a lot of military and middle east history.

I spent my early years as a junior officer in the Australian Army, but the past 20 years working in public relations, particularly in the field of investor relations. It's not terribly exciting but it does afford the opportunity to travel a bit and I really enjoy visiting mine sites and major industrial projects all over Australia. Apart from raising two teenage boys and being married to the same beautiful woman for the past 21 years, I don't have many passions other than military modelling, music and literature.

Like many Planeteers, I started scale modelling as a kid and then took an extended break from the hobby when I discovered girls and beer. I got back into it after I got married, but I've only really started to take my hobby seriously when I switched from AFV's to Figures back in the 90's, and since joining my local figure modelling club and more recently, Planet Figure.

To fund my hobbies, during the day I (currently) sell mobile (cell) phones to customer in store.
Before that, I ran my own business refilling printer cartridges.

When I am not helping people buy phones (sometimes meaning being nice to people whether they deserve it or not) in my spare time I also enjoy photography, Japan & it's culture, and have returned to doing laps in the pool, to try and reduce the size of the beer powered float aid above the belt buckle.

Always find time for number 1 little brown dog, currently between girl friends, no extra time for the bench, as moving house soon.....

Still, I keep being drawn back to this hobby as a form of self expression.....and the good atmosphere here on the planet....

cheers

By day I'm a buyer for an international electronics manufacturer. I model 1/35 armour, cars and aircraft as well as figures, and also a keen amatuer photographer.

:D

Hi, friends.

Reading your post I'm astonished how many things most of you are doing in the same time... I'm working as a product/brand manager in telecommunication company - full-time job, my way home takes me only 1/2 hour, have 1 child only (6 y.o.), do not watch TV (except some historical channels sometimes), I go to sleep not early than 2 at night... and I even do not have enough time for my hobbies. What the *** is the problem... bad time management or what?? I should seriously think about that.. Sorry for this little OFF.

Hobbies: diorama modelling, figure sculpting and painting and playing electric guitar + creating some music (progressive rock/metal and brutal death when I'm angry to my noisy neighbours ). I used to play PC games (FPS & RTS) but this hobby goes on the third place now.

Apart from working in the I.T. Education industry and painting in the evenings and some weekends I get to the gym four times a week straight from work (otherwise I would not go) practice and teach martial arts (but not as much these days) and work as a door supervisor some weekends at a local night club dealing with drunk and underage people, my life is pretty full shame that work gets in the way.:D
Cheers
Tommi

Hi,

I'm a Director of Finance in the Oil and Gas industry. I have traveled all over the world, been to approx 40 countries. I spent 11 years in the United States Army as a Company Grade and Staff officer. Like most of us I took a break from modeling from my late teens until my 40's. I re-entered the hobby about 3 years ago now. I'm married, I have two wonderful children.

I also Coach Soccer (Football) for my son and daughters' soccer teams. I've been doing for the last 6 years or so. I'm ready for a break. They're too good for me.

Allright, I'm from Portugal (this lovely F***** up country), I'm 21 and I study Law in University of Coimbra, the oldest and better of portugal and one of the oldest in the world. I'm in the last year, so my life is yet to be complicated. For now I have time to do this. I've around this since quite a kid, because of my father that made model rally cars. But now I intered the world of figures, so here I am.
I also spend a lot a time playing music alone or with friends. . . Then I do whatever comes around for a guy of my age. . .

I'll bite. I'm an attorney in private practice (most of my current practice is as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem for children whose parent(s) have been accused of dependency, neglect or abuse). I've been involved with this hobby since app. 1964-65 but am not nearly as involved as many of persons on this and other sites. I also read voraciously--novels, history, politics, magazines, et al. I am a committed sports fan--UL basketball/football, Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, Cincinnati Reds. I purchase and occasionally play Strat-O-Matic sports seasons, as well. I continue to believe that I can still shoot basketball like I did some thirty years ago, so I like to go to the park and shoot hoops. have recently taken up "jogging" but have had to deal with stress fractures once I work up to a respectable time/distance. In sum, I haven't grown up yet and don't see any opportunity to do so in the immediate future.

well, i'm teacher in a special education school, in the south of Spain. i work with kids with a lot of handicaps. i specially love to work with authistic childrens.

in my free time, i like tpaintning, music, the cinema and take a beer with my friends
