Exactly what I suggested back on page one....before it all went down hill Brian

Ron

Brian & Ron, Del is right ,here is a pic of the reins insitu IMG_9361.JPG

Acually Ron, looking at it again, the extension of the reins might be a braided piece that acts as a riding whip. That loop might be for the carbine... when the carbine is off the swivel (on the crossbelt), the butt goes through that loop, hanging from the swivel-ring, with the muzzle in the muzzlebucket that hangs from the saddle.

If there is no carbine or riding whip with the kit, then I'd go with it as is... but what do I know anyway?:wacky:

:arghh: Can't be the Crupper Loop :notworthy: ....... the picture you posted on the V Bench thread yesterday morning shows the loop in place.
So given you asked the question about 5 hours later this must be something else altogether,
Take the line of least resistance .... leave it in the carpet :)

To be honest it looks like one of those parts that are made to fall out of the bag and land on the floor, you see it out of the corner of your eye  , spend half the day looking for it, find it and spend the rest of the build wondering `WHERE THE BL:grumpy: :(DY HELL DOES THIS GO',
